At Yay4Play, our mission is to revolutionise early childhood education by harnessing the transformative power of playful learning.

We provide accessible and innovative educational resources that empower educators within the teaching practice to nurture the holistic growth of children, fostering their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.

With our Six Bricks methodology, we envision a world where playful learning is the cornerstone of every child's educational journey. A world where the six bricks experience brings about changes in perceptual skills, mental readiness for school and improvements in emotional skills by providing amazing learning opportunities for children aged 3 upwards.

What is Six Bricks?

The Six Bricks methodology is an educational approach that emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning.

Children use the BRICKS activities to problem-solve and explore concepts like shapes, colours, numbers, and patterns through play.

Six Bricks activities support various aspects of child development, including cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.

Six Bricks Basics

Six Bricks consists of six DUPLO® type in 6 bright colours bricks that utilise the power of play for fun, short activities and games of 2-5 minutes in duration.

These bricks are inexpensive, durable, recognisable, and versatile, offering countless ways to engage children.

If you are looking for a learning tool that is in fact a perfect resource for your school, and if you believe in active learning during the school day, this hands-on resource is a way of building skills development as a key pedagogical approach for your childhood educators and primary teachers.

The method is also used by occupational therapists who believe in not just learning of concepts, but using these amazing tools for active learning opportunities.

Key Features of Six Bricks

  1. Hands-On Learning through a hands-on tool: Encourages exploration of shapes, colours, numbers, and patterns through play. All in just a couple of minutes.
  2. Open-Ended Play: Fosters creativity and imagination, with no prescribed "correct" ways to use the bricks. All of this reinforces and embeds academic learning and the achievement of curriculum learning outcomes.
  3. Multi-Sensory Learning: Incorporates touch, sight, and sound to enhance the learning experience. This is where the Six Bricks principles help with discovery learning to create a dynamic learning experience for children.
  4. Social Interaction: Promotes collaboration and interaction among children.
  5. Curriculum Integration: Supports cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development within early childhood education curricula.

Connecting Ideas for Cohesive Learning

Cohesion and coherence are essential for effective learning.

At Yay4Play, we ensure that our educational resources based on the Six Bricks method not only cover a broad range of developmental skills but also connect these skills in a cohesive manner.

By integrating multi-sensory and open-ended activities, we provide a seamless learning experience that supports children in making meaningful connections between different concepts and skills.

Global Reach and Application

Six Bricks is used in various educational settings internationally, including primary schools, early learning centres, childcare centres, and preschools.

This highlights the versatility and effectiveness of the methodology.

Additionally, play-based learning is a core component of our approach, ensuring that every activity contributes to the holistic development of children to boost their core learning skills.
